Washington,DC (NewsRadio WFLA)-A Tampa Bay Congressman is behind a new effort to fight what he calls gruesome and abhorrent acts. Sixteenth District Republican Vern Buchanan, last week, helped introduce a bill to make animal cruelty a federal offense.
He says the torture of innocent animals should be punished to the fullest extent of the law, and protecting animals from cruelty is one of his top priorities. Buchanan says the bill has the backing of the Humane Society.
