Tampa, Fla.-(Newsradio WFLA)-AAA says gasoline prices are starting to slip lower this week. The Florida state average of $2.23 per gallon is a penny less than last Thursday.
The Auto Club Group's Josh Carrasco says gas prices are starting the downward trend again due to an oversupply of gas. He says gasoline supplies are at record highs now because refineries had been running hard to meet seasonal demands for both heating oil and exports.
Carrasco says the high supply of gas should help Florida averages to drop another 3 to five cents in the next week to ten days.
The most expensive gas in Florida is in the West Palm Beach-Boca Raton area at $2.40. The least expensive gas in Florida is in Pensacola at $2.16.
