Pinellas Supervisor of Elections Julie Marcus joined AM Tampa Bay to discuss today is National Voter Registration Day.
National Voter Registration Day was established back in 2012 and is a day for volunteers around the country to “hit the streets” in a single day of coordinated field, technological, and media efforts to create broad awareness of voter registration opportunities.
COVID-19 has caused some obstacles, so they are doing everything they can to reach voters to the extent possible in-person and online.
They have a voter registration event at the Largo Public Library beginning at 1 pm today and hosting a virtual voter registration event at 7 pm. Details on that event can be found here.
