New Pinellas County Office Coming Soon for St. Petersburg Residents

ST. PETERSBURG (WFLA News) -- Pinellas County officials have broken ground on a new county office building in the 2500 block of 34th Street North in St. Petersburg. It'll house the Property Appraiser and Tax COllector offices, including driver licenses.

Pinellas tax collector Charles Thomas says there'll be enough room for driving tests, which can't be given at the current location at 1800 66th Street North. Right now, the only South Pinellas location offering those tests behind the wheel is a small office near the Sunshine Skyway.

The new facility will open in mid-2020. At that time the Tax COllector and Property Appraiser offices will move from their current location.

The groundbreaking is the result of a deal between the county and the Belleair Development Group.
