Ybor City Store Clerk Shot By Cigarette Thief

Tampa, Fla.(NewsRadio WFLA)-A man is hurt after a confrontation over stolen cigarettes. A 7/11 clerk was shot on East Eighth Ave.,in Ybor City.

The suspect allegedly stole two packs of cigarettes before riding away on his bicycle. The unidentified clerk ran after the man and was shot three times when he caught up to the suspect, but police say the victim is expected to survive.

Suspect is described as a black male, approximately 40-50 years old with long dreads, 5'10”- 6', last seen wearing a red, black, yellow and green Rastafarian style beanie hat, dark colored jacket, black pants, and white and black sneakers/shoes

The suspect rode away on a black unknown make and model bicycle with white writing on it and a mounted light in between the handle bars.
