Attorneys for Robert Benac and Michael Wentzel asked Hillsborough Circuit Judge Mark Wolfe to dismiss the animal cruelty charges against the two Manatee County men.
Judge Wolfe said no.
So there'll be another hearing on the shark-dragging case is August 21st.
There was a third suspect--Spencer Heinz. But charges were dropped against him last month. The case stems from video that went viral last summer showing a shark being pulled from the back of a speeding boat in the bay.
