Violent Fugitive Captured In Hillsborough

Tampa, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-Hillsborough County deputies have captured a man wanted in New York and New Jersey after getting a lead from the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force.

Agents told deputies here that they believed 47 year-old Ivan Malave Rivera, a certified gang member, was hiding out in Tampa. Rivera was spotted at a home on Cloverstone Drive in Tampa.  Detectives were able to find Rivera there and take him into custody without incident.

Rivera was listed as a fugitive for parole violation from New York for burglary and sex offender violation for aggravated sexual assault. Rivera was also wanted in New Jersey for aggravated assault with a firearm for shooting into a crowd in Newark.

Rivera was booked into the Hillsborough County Jail without bond, pending transfer back to New York and New Jersey.
