Dade City Hit-and-Run Kills Man Lying in Road

Dade City, Fla. (970 WFLA) - A Dade City man died in what police call a hit-and-run crash early Saturday. They say the victim might have already been lying in the road when he was struck.

Dade City Police say witnesses told them that they had seen Michael Burdeshaw, 53, lying on the edge of Blanton Road, east of Michael Street, before he was struck. One of them turned around to check on the man, noticed the body had moved, and that Burdeshaw had appeared to have been run over.

Pasco County Fire Rescue declared Burdeshaw dead at the scene. Police now search for the driver, or drivers, who hit him, and ask that anyone with helpful information contact Detective George Richardson at 352-521-1493.
