MIAMI (970 WFLA) --The Florida Highway Patrol reports several fatalities, after a pedestrian bridge collapsed onto cars near the campus of Florida International University in southwest Miami.
Those would likely be people in cars on the roadway underneath the bridge, which is under construction and about a year away from opening.
The bridge collapsed onto Calle Ocho (S.W. 8th Street) early Thursday afternoon.
