Local law enforcement warns against sharing disturbing video

A disturbing case of child abuse went viral when a video depicting child pornography made the rounds.

That prompted law enforcement agencies, including the Polk County Sheriff's office, to warn the public about sharing those types of videos because it's illegal and it re-victimizes the child depicted in it.

Carrie Horstman of the Polk County Sheriff's office says Facebook users kept sharing the video in an attempt to help identify the man in it.

Instead, Horstman says people should immediately contact the National Centers for Missing and Exploited Children.  And again, she reminds you that you will likely be charged with a crime if you share videos depicting child pornography or child abuse.

Horstman says the man in this latest video has been identified and the young victim is safe.
