Venice, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-A security guard at the Venetian Golf and River Club has been arrested on child pornography charges. Sarasota County deputies say 32 year-old Dennis Pomroy is charged with the transmission of obscene material.
Detectives investigating internet crimes against children found an IP address that was being used to download files containing child porn. The IP address traced back to the guard house at the club at 101 Veneto Boulevard.
During a search of the property and after a forensic scan of Pomroy's computer, detectives located files indicating his personal computer had been used to transmit child porn.
Deputies say Pomroy worked for Victory Security, the security provider for the club.
